FIRST TIME EVER, ONE COMPANY HAS HAD THE TOP THREE ENTRIES IN THE NTEP TRIALS
To say we were excited when we saw that we had 4 of the top 5 varieties in the recent NTEP would be an understatement. Our only regret was that we hadn’t entered a fifth entry from our breeding program. Starr, Cloud, and Bombay are the newest varieties to join Skye in our stable of elite Bluegrass varieties.
When Jacklin Seed shuttered their breeding program, we sensed an opportunity and increased our expenditures on Kentucky Bluegrass breeding. Utilizing proprietary breeding techniques we have been able to improve the efficiency of creating bluegrass hybrids by 10x over the traditional breeding practices. Currently we are evaluating more than 150 hybrids with an emphasis being placed on high seed yield and quality. Stay tuned for more releases in the near future.
